This was a special show benefitting Hope The Mission and Los Angeles Mission, California based charities fighting poverty, hunger and homelessness. Tickets were sold in-person only at the venue where purchasers were also required to donate one or more requested items, such as warm clothing and non-perishable food.
The show also took place on Dave Grohl's birthday, with the show billed as "Good Times for a Good cause".
Pat Smear was not present at the show due to a gardening accident the week previous which left him with a broken leg. He did however deliver a brief video message at the start of the show, introducing the band to the stage.
