This session took place in mid July 2005, shortly after the band returned home from playing a raft of shows in Europe. One of those shows was the T-In Park Festival, in Scotland and on the day of their performance Dave was scheduled to appear on BBC Radio Scotland.
The DJ asked Dave to perform a song for them acoustically and rather than play a current song, he wrote a brand new one, 'Skin And Bones'.
On their return home Dave and Taylor headed to 606, deciding they wanted to do a quick studio recording of the new song. Nate and Chris were not present.
As well as recording Dave's new song Taylor also wanted to record a cover, the Cream song 'I Feel Free'.
The session was recorded by Mike Terry who had also helped engineer the recording sessions for 'In Your Honor' and he recalled how quickly both songs were recorded. “Dave came in that morning, learned the guitar part and they banged it out together.” he said of the Cream cover. “Dave learned the bass part and overdubbed it, then he learned the solo and even doubled it” he added.
“We recorded both songs in a day, mixed them the following day and that was it” said Terry. The two songs were also released quite hastily, appearing on the DOA single as B-Sides in September 2005.
