Show Notes

Live rehearsal session for the VMA performance the following evening. The band rehearsed several cover songs with special guests who were to join them on the show. For a cover of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir they were joined by Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of The Stone Age, Eagles Of Death Metal's Brian O' Connor and Jesse Huges and metal outfit Mastadon. They were also joined by former System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian for a rendition of Dead Kennedys "Holiday In Cambodia", with Tankian on lead vocals. Next they were joined by Motorhead frontman Lemmy for a rendition of Probot song "Shake Your Blood", featuring Grohl on drums, and a cover of MotorHead track "Overkill". Finally they were joined by Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley for a cover of Queens OF The Stone Age song "I Wanna Make It Wit Chu", also featuring Homme and Van Leeuen of the band, and another version of Princes "Darling Nikki", with Cee-Lo on lead vocals. The rehearsal session lasted for over two hours, so it is likely each song was played several times.
