Shortly before the band were due to take to the stage, a thunderstorm rolled in. Despite heavy rain and lightning in the distance, the band started their set but after 20 minutes they were forced to leave the stage as the storm closed in and the intensity increased. It was initially announced to the crowd to be a temporary retreat, but it was then soon announced that the band would not be able to return to ensure the safety of everyone, with some areas locally already flooding.
During the band's "Times Like Those" 25th anniversary special, Dave and Pat recalled when Dave slipped and fell down trying to get up the ramp onto the stage before the show because of the rain.
