Session Information

Shortly after recording their first set of songs as new band Mission Impossible returned once more to Barrett Jones' Laundry Room Studio in Arlington, Virginia to record new material. After recording this second demo the band met up with some members of another local band, Lünch Meat.

The two bands played a handful of shows together and later decided to release a split 7". Mission Impossible contributed with three songs from this session and featured on the 'A' side of the record, Lünch Meat including three of their songs on the 'B' side of the record.

The record was released on Lünch Meat's then current label, Dischord Records, titled 'Thanks' and limited to 500 copies distributed only in the US. Once all of those copies were sold the record was repressed with a new title of 'Getting Shit For Growing Up Different', this time with a pressing twice the size, 1000 copies.

Seven tracks in total were recorded at this session and whilst three of them are easily found on the 7" release, the other four do not widely circulate. However like the previous demo sessions by the band cassettes were circulated and traded at the time and it is likely the ¼ Inch master reel is either in Barrett Jones' Laundry Room Recordings vault or in the possession of a band member.
