Just before Foo Fighters headed out on the road to record their eighth studio album across the country drummer Taylor Hawkins formed his own new band, ‘The Birds Of Satan’. The members were all at the time part of Hawkins cover band ‘Chevy Metal’ with the original project being a natural evolution. Hawkins decided to call in a favor from several members of Foo Fighters to help with the recording of their first album with Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Dave Grohl all contributing. In the case of Grohl, it was with guitar tracks, Hawkins taking care of drums. The self-titled album was released in April 2014, featuring seven tracks.
