Pop up shows return with Foo Fighters show in Bakersfield announced for November 3

As Dave teased at the end of the Amazon Live event last week, the band aren't done with small shows, but do they serve a bigger purpose?

"There's more. Oh there's more". Dave Grohl was not subtle in his teaser to fans at the recent Amazon Music Live event, referring to the series of smaller pop-up shows the band played in September 2025. "Anybody who wants to see us rip through some three hour long show, in a sweaty little nightclub, then keep your eyes peeled" he stated in a message broadcast live across Twitch.tv and Amazon Prime.

It didn't take long for the now familiar teasers to start, with a post of Dave Grohl wearing a Korn tracksuit and the caption "This time of year always makes me think of Kornfields" posted yesterday (November 1).

Fans took the teaser one of two ways. It could either be like previous teasers which were shows taking place in the hometown of the artist featured, in this case Bakersfield, California. The other alternative was a hint to corn heavy states, a more rural location.

The second teaser then essentially cleared that up, with a photo of Pat Smear playing a Buck Owens Guitar (Pioneer of the "Bakersfield sound") captioned "I came here looking for something, I couldn't find anywhere else", lyrics from the Dwight Yoakam track 'The Streets Of Bakersfield'.

Just an hour later the show was announced. The band will be heading to The Nile Theater in Bakersfield, California tomorrow (November 3). As with the September shows, tickets go on sale today in person, although unusually tickets will be sold from a different venue, The Fox Theater.

More of these shows were always likely ever since the band released the live EP of tracks from the first batch of shows and titled it "Are playing where?? Volume 1" but the question still remains what wider purpose these shows are serving. Are they simply playing shows just because they want to?

Are they part of wider plans for future albums? As always, time will tell.
